PVC Resin

Australian Vinyls manufactures a range of PVC resin grades. The grade of the resin is determined by the type of product to be fabricated. Our customers make a wide variety of products, for both the domestic and export markets, from PVC resin manufactured at AV.

AV’s Laverton plant currently produces approximately 140,000 tonnes of PVC resin annually.

PVC resin is classified as a non-hazardous substance by both the Australian Safety and Compensation Commission criteria and the criteria nominated in transport legislation.

What is the difference between PVC and uPVC?

PVC is a very versatile resin which can be used in both rigid and soft (flexible) applications depending on the additives it is mixed with. Known as rigid PVC, uPVC is made from unplasticised resin. Flexible PVC includes plasticisers. Australian Vinyls supplies resin grades for both types of PVC.
