Plant Safety

Throughout Australian Vinyls’ production, storage and transport operations, we make sure all materials and products are handled safely and efficiently.

Several of the raw materials used in the production of PVC and some of our specialty products are potentially hazardous to health if they are not handled carefully. Particular attention is needed when handling the liquefied inflammable gas Vinyl Chloride Monomer (VCM) as it is maintained under pressure.

Australian Vinyls’ plant is a licensed Major Hazard Facility (MHF) under Victorian
Major Hazard Facility Regulations, 2000 and we operate under licences issued by the Victorian Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and WorkSafe Victoria.
