Environment Improvement Plans - Australian Vinyls

Environment Monitoring Team

EIP actions and targets are developed in consultation with members of the community, regulatory authorities and company staff.

Environment Improvement Plans

In a spirit of shared community interest, Australian Vinyls, local residents, council and Victorian regulatory authorities signed the first, jointly agreed Environment Improvement Plan (EIP) for AV’s Laverton plant in 2000. Representatives from the Environmental Protection Authority, City West Water and WorkSafe were participants.

An EIP sets out actions and targets for the company to meet to improve its environmental performance over a three year period. EIPs are an important part of our program to inform the community about the health, safety and environmental impacts of our business. The second and third EIPs were issued for the Laverton plant in 2003 and
2006 respectively.

Community representatives and Australian Vinyls employees come together to form an Environmental Monitoring Team (EMT). The EMT monitors progress against the actions in the EIP and the environmental performance of the Laverton plant. The team meets bi-monthly.
