Our current Environment Improvement Plan

In December 2006, the company’s third EIP was launched. As in the past, representatives from the local community, the Wyndham City Council and the regulatory authorities – the Victorian EPA and City West Water – are signatories.
This latest three-year plan commits the company to continue reducing the environmental impact of its operations. The plan has a series of commitments and targets for improvements for the period July 2006 to June 2009 including:

- resource conservation
- air emissions
- waste minimisation
- visual amenity
- readiness for incidents
- incident response.

The includes, for the first time, specific actions in the area of corporate social responsibility. At the same time, we are maintaining our commitments to engage with the community and to follow a responsible stewardship program for our products.
The Environmental Monitoring Team continues to meet regularly to monitor the environmental performance of the Laverton Plant and to track progress against the EIP actions.
